Privacy policy
This page explains what Reelhouse collects when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it.
Last updated Oct 8, 2026
The short version
- You can browse without an account. We don't ask for anything to look around.
- If you create an account, we store your name, email, password (encrypted) and watchlist.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, or use tracking or advertising cookies.
- We count visits with privacy-friendly analytics that don't use cookies or identify you.
- You can delete your account and everything tied to it at any time from your account page.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Name and email address, so you can sign in, reset your password and get account emails.
- Password, stored only as a secure hash. Nobody, including us, can read it.
- Your watchlist: the titles you save and when you saved them.
When you use the site
- Sign-in cookies that keep you signed in. They're only set when you sign in and are needed for your account to work.
- Technical logs kept by our hosting provider, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used to run the site and protect it from abuse.
- Visit counts from Vercel Web Analytics: which pages are viewed, the referring site, and your country, browser and device type. It doesn't use cookies, and visitors are counted without being identified or tracked across other sites.
We don't use advertising or social media tracking.
Services we rely on
These companies process data on our behalf or when your browser loads content from them:
- Supabase stores accounts and watchlists, and sends account emails.
- Vercel hosts the site, keeps the technical logs described above, and provides the visit counts.
- TMDB provides movie and TV information. Posters and images load directly from TMDB's servers, so TMDB receives your IP address when they load.
- YouTube plays trailers. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and nothing loads from YouTube until you open a trailer.
- Embedded video players on title pages are run by other companies. When you start one, it loads from their servers and may set its own cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies, which we don't control.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and watchlist until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your profile and watchlist right away. Hosting logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider and then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct your details: update your name, email and password on your account page.
- Delete everything: use “Delete account” on your account page.
- Get a copy or ask a question: email tmauara@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have further rights, such as to object to processing or complain to your data protection authority. We'll answer requests within 30 days.
Children
Reelhouse isn't meant for children under 13 (under 16 in the EU), and we don't knowingly let them create accounts. If you think a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also let account holders know by email.
