Report infringing content

Send a written notice to tmauara@gmail.com with the subject line “DMCA notice”. To be valid under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), your notice needs to include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, or that of someone authorized to act for the copyright owner.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed.
  3. The exact address (URL) of each page on Reelhouse where the material appears, detailed enough for us to find it.
  4. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

Notices that leave out any of these items may be delayed while we ask for the missing details.

What happens next

When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable access to the material it identifies, usually within a few business days, and reply to confirm. If the material was added through a user's account, we tell that user it was removed and send them a copy of the notice.

Counter-notice

If material you added was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. Include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. A description of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where Reelhouse may be found), and that you'll accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We forward valid counter-notices to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they've filed a court action, we may restore the material.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyrights.

Before you send a notice

Knowingly misrepresenting that material infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). If you're not sure whether something infringes your rights, consider talking to a lawyer first.
